Elderslie actor Richard Madden has been named among the world’s “sexiest celebrity voices” in a new global study.

The Game of Thrones and Bodyguard star ranked ninth in the list, which analysed how attractive people find the voices of well-known celebrities.

The research, carried out by lingerie brand Pour Moi, asked 500 people in the UK to listen to short voice clips from 100 celebrities.

Participants rated each voice based on pitch, speed, volume and overall attractiveness.

Spanish singer Rosalía took the top spot with a score of 84.6 out of 100. Actress Zoë Kravitz placed second, while British actress Aimee Lou Wood came third.

Madden was one of three Scots to appear in the top 20. Actor James McAvoy ranked sixth with a score of 78.9, while singer Lewis Capaldi placed nineteenth with 72.8.

Irish actor Andrew Scott was the highest-ranked male voice overall, finishing fourth in the global list.

Researchers said the results reflect how voice and sound are becoming a bigger part of celebrity culture through podcasts, interviews and audiobooks.

Participants listened to 30-second clips without knowing who the speaker was, helping to reduce recognition bias when rating the voices.

The study produced 2,500 ratings in total, with scores combined to create a final “Sexy Voice Score” out of 100.
