Police are appealing for information after a serious crash involving an electric motorbike and pedestrians in Renfrew.
The incident happened around 2.25pm on Tuesday, 7th April 2026, on Inchinnan Road. Emergency services attended after reports of a collision involving a Sur-Ron electric motorbike and a group of four pedestrians.
The male rider of the motorbike was taken to hospital, where medical staff have described his condition as critical.
Two female pedestrians, both aged 69, were also taken to hospital with what have been described as serious injuries. Two children, aged 10 and 11, who were present at the scene were not injured.
Police said the electric motorbike was removed from the scene before officers arrived, but it has since been traced. A 40-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
The road was closed while enquiries were carried out and reopened at around 5.30pm.
Sergeant Martin Cunningham said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this crash and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed it and hasn’t already spoken to police to get in touch.
“I would also ask anyone who was in the area around the time and who may have dash cam or private CCTV footage that could assist to contact us.”
