The fitness suite at Lagoon Leisure Centre in Paisley has reopened following a £275,000 refurbishment.
Operator OneRen has completed a range of improvements to the gym, including new cardio and strength equipment, an upgraded free weights area and immersive LED lighting.
Members can now use new Life Fitness cardio and strength machines, while a new virtual Wexer suite has been installed. The digital platform offers a range of virtual fitness classes led by instructors from around the world.
A new EGYM Fitness Hub has also been added, allowing users to access personalised workouts and track their progress. The refurbishment also included new flooring and a full redecoration of the fitness suite.
Councillor Lisa-Marie Hughes, Chair of OneRen, said: “This is a significant investment in our gym facilities at Lagoon Leisure Centre – one that we are delighted to unveil.
“By giving our members access to the best facilities, we are helping them to achieve their personal health and fitness goals as we work hard to improve wellbeing across Renfrewshire.
“This modern, high-quality environment not only looks brilliant, but opens more accessible, affordable opportunities for people to access the latest fitness technology and all of the benefits that brings.”
The gym was closed for two weeks while the work was carried out. All other facilities at Lagoon Leisure Centre remained open throughout the refurbishment.
The investment follows a recent major refurbishment of the gym at ON-X in Linwood as part of OneRen’s ongoing programme of improvements to leisure facilities across Renfrewshire. OneRen memberships provide access to all of its leisure clubs in the area.
