Emergency repairs to a collapsed sewer pipe on Greenhill Road in Paisley are expected to take at least four weeks to complete after a sinkhole formed outside No. 121 Greenhill Road.
Scottish Water said the repair is needed to maintain flows within the wastewater network and help protect nearby homes and businesses from the risk of flooding.
The sewer is approximately 4.5 metres below ground level, meaning a significant excavation is needed to reach and repair the damaged pipe. A section of Greenhill Road has been closed to traffic while the work is carried out, and diversions are in place.
Residents will continue to have access to their properties during the works, although access to some driveways may be restricted at times. Scottish Water said its teams will work closely with those affected to minimise disruption wherever possible.
Local businesses remain open and accessible throughout the works.
At this stage, the repairs are expected to take at least four weeks to complete, although the programme will be kept under review as work progresses. Scottish Water said it will provide updates if the timescale changes.
