A man and woman were treated by emergency services after a fire at a property in Kilbarchan in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to the fire on Ewing Street at 12.35am on Saturday 25th July 2026.
Three fire appliances were sent to the scene, where firefighters worked to extinguish a fire affecting the ground-floor flat of a two-storey property.
The fire service said three casualties were passed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service and treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
Police Scotland previously said a man and woman were treated at the scene, with the woman taken to hospital as a precaution.
Police are treating the fire as wilful and enquiries are ongoing.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 12.35am on Saturday, 25th July, to reports of a dwelling fire at Ewing Street in Kilbarchan, Johnstone.
“Operations Control mobilised three appliances to the scene and firefighters worked to extinguish a fire affecting the ground floor flat of a two-storey property.
“Three casualties were passed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service and treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
“Crews left the scene at 2.24am.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.50am on Saturday, 25th July, 2026, we received a report of a fire at a property on Ewing Street, Kilbarchan.
“Emergency services attended and a man and woman were treated at the scene. The woman was taken to hospital as a precaution.
“The fire is being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing.”
