Police are investigating after the bodies of a man and a woman were found in Houston.

Emergency services were called to Corsliehill Road at 8.33am on Monday, 27th July 2026, following a report of concern for a person.

Police Scotland said the bodies of a 36-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man were found nearby.

A significant emergency services response was launched, with Renfrewshire News understanding up to seven police units attended the scene. A police helicopter was also seen in the area.

The Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed it dispatched four Special Operations Response Teams (SORT), two ambulances and a critical care team.

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 08.33 to attend an incident on Barochan Road, Houston, Johnstone. Four special operations response teams (SORT), two ambulances and one critical care team were dispatched to the scene.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “An investigation is ongoing into the deaths of a 36-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man in the Houston area.

“On Monday, 27 July, 2026, we received a report of concern for a person in Corsliehill Road. Emergency services attended, and the body of a man and a woman were found nearby.

“The deaths are being treated as unexplained and post mortem examinations will be carried out in due course.

“Extensive enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances. At this time, there is nothing to suggest anyone else has been involved.

“Their relatives are aware and are being supported by specialist officers.”

Police enquiries remain ongoing.
