EasyJet has become the first airline to fly over one million passengers from Glasgow in a 12 month period.
The airline has been flying from Glasgow Airport since its first ever flight from Luton to Glasgow in 1995.
The airline celebrated the by surprising one lucky passenger with a pair of free flights as they boarded their flight from Glasgow to Alicante and all passengers on board were treated to cupcake giveaways.
On 10th November 1995 easyJet’s first ever flight, EZY121 operated on a Boeing 737-200, took off from London Luton for Glasgow with Captain Fred Rivett at the controls.

EasyJet is the largest airline in Scotland carrying almost one in three Scottish travellers and in calendar year 2018 will continue to grow as the number of seats on sale will increase around 5% to over eight million.
They operate 838 flights in and out of Scotland per week in peak summer to 44 airports in 19 countries and links Scotland with some the largest European cities including Amsterdam, Paris, Athens, Milan, Prague and Berlin.
