Renfrewshire businesses are being invited to a free networking event in Linwood to learn about council and public sector contracts.

The event will take place at Tweedie Hall on Tuesday 17th November 2026, from 9am to 1pm.

Representatives from Renfrewshire Council, the University of the West of Scotland, City Building and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde will outline the contracts available and explain how to do business with public sector organisations.

Business support and advice on bidding for contracts will also be available from Business Gateway, the Supplier Development Programme, Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Small Business.

Councillor John Shaw, Convenor of Renfrewshire Council’s Finance, Customer Services and Resources Policy Board, said: “This event is about helping Renfrewshire businesses connect with real opportunities in the public sector and giving them the confidence to bid for contracts that could support future growth.

“Renfrewshire Council awards around 200 contracts each year and spends £344 million on goods and services. Across Scotland, public sector organisations spend around £17 billion annually, creating significant opportunities for businesses of all sizes.

“We want more of that investment to benefit local companies, helping to create jobs, strengthen our economy and support sustainable growth across Renfrewshire.

“Businesses attending the event will gain practical advice on the procurement process, meet buyers and partners, and learn how to identify and secure opportunities that could help them grow and thrive.”

The event is open to sole traders, limited companies, partnerships, supported businesses, third sector organisations and suppliers based in Renfrewshire.

Businesses and suppliers can register for the Renfrewshire Local Business Event 2026 online.
