Residents-only parking is proposed for Marchfield Avenue following complaints about vehicles being left by Glasgow Airport passengers and workers.
The proposed restrictions are intended to protect parking for residents and address unsafe parking near junctions and the Westpoint Business Park roundabout.
Renfrewshire Council’s Infrastructure, Land and Environment Policy Board will consider the report on Wednesday, 4th November 2026.
Officers say they have received 37 items of correspondence from councillors and the public since April 2022 about the street being used as a free airport car park.
Residents have reported drivers taking suitcases from cars and leaving vehicles for long periods. They have also raised concerns about airport drop-offs, pick-ups and parking by commuters.
The report says demand from a nearby commercial estate also spills into laybys and onto junction corners and roundabout approaches, affecting access and visibility.
The traffic order, which covers Marchfield Avenue and New Harbour Way, received 14 objection responses and ten enquiries during consultation.
Officers recommend changes in response to four objections, including alterations to parking outside homes and the inclusion of the privately maintained cul-de-sac at numbers 50 to 56.
They also recommend removing a proposed bay outside number 61 because of a planned driveway, and removing unrestricted spaces from the proposal.
Other objections concern permit allowances, visitor access, administration of the scheme and possible future charges.
The council says it has no plans to introduce a charge for permits at present. Officers say additional visitor permits can be requested and care or mobility support needs can be considered individually.
Councillors are being asked to decide on the objections and proposed amendments before authorising the traffic order.
