Renfrewshire has been awarded £453,000 for bus infrastructure improvements, including replacement shelters and measures to make stops easier to use.

The Transport Scotland allocation has increased from £105,000 last year, according to a council service update.

Renfrewshire Council’s Infrastructure, Land and Environment Policy Board will consider the report on Wednesday, 4th November 2026.

Part of the funding will replace older bespoke bus shelters outside the Piazza on Gauze Street in Paisley town centre.

New Bauer Media shelters would allow those stops to be covered by the council’s existing maintenance agreement.

Other projects across Renfrewshire include raised kerbs to help passengers board buses and improvements to paths leading to bus stops.

The funding will also support further shelter replacements and traffic signal upgrades on key bus routes, using technology to give buses priority.

The report does not give a separate allocation or delivery date for each project.
