A new book is set to reveal the truths about William Wallace and set aside the myths.

Local historian Dr Chris Brown will also reveal that he believes Wallace was not from Elderslie.

He has written an updated biography that will also tell the truth behind the story portrayed in the Braveheart movie.

“The only thing accurate about Braveheart are the names,” says Dr Brown.

He also claims that Wallace’s capture and handover to the English King was actually an attempt at restoring peace between Scotland and England.

Wallace was also rich, moved in influential circles and would have been well educated, not a poor farmer’s boy and a man of the people, as many believed.
