Ferguslie Park North Tenants and Residents Association and Shitokai Scotland have been awarded almost £17,000 worth of funding from the Big Lottery Fund.
The two organisations have been congratulated by Gavin Newlands, the MP for Paisley and Renfrewshire North.
Awards For All Scotland gives groups a chance to apply for a grant of between £500 and £10,000 for projects that aim to help improve local communities and the lives of people most in need.
They will fund a range of projects which involve bringing local people together, helping people learn, improving local spaces and getting people more active.
The two groups from Renfrewshire successfully applied to the Big Lottery Fund’s ‘Awards for All Scotland’ and received £16,730.
Ferguslie Park North Tenants and Residents Association received £8,450 and will use the funding to undertake a programme of activities for members of the group.
Shitokai Scotland received £8,280 and will use the funding for Karate Jigsaw mats and a FitLight training system.
Gavin Newlands, the MP for Paisley and Renfrewshire North, said: “I am delighted to see nearly £17,000 worth of funding being awarded two Ferguslie Park North Tenants and Residents Association and Shitokai Scotland in the latest round of awards from the Big Lottery Fund.
“These grants will allow the Tenants and Residents Association and Shitokai Scotland to go from strength to strength and continue to do great work in Renfrewshire for the benefit of our people and communities.”
