A man has been stabbed and slashed in broad daylight in Paisley by three assailants.
The 45-year-old man was attacked by three men while he was sitting in his car at Causeyside Street, near to the Wellington Bar.
The incident happened at around 5pm on Thursday 17th August 2017 after three men got out of a car and approached their victim’s vehicle. The victim got out his car and attempted to escape on foot but they caught up with him and carried out their assault, which included slashing his face and stabbing him on his back.
Police have released a list of the suspects. The first male suspect is described as white, 6”4, 30 years, heavy muscular build wearing a white t-shirt and a grey tracksuit. The second man has been described as White, 6”4, 30 years, skinny build with short dark hair.
Finally, the third suspect has been described as white, of heavy build with short hair, greying at the top.
The man was taken by ambulance to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley where he was treated for stab wounds and received 17 stitches to his face. His condition is described as stable by hospital staff.
Detective Sergeant Nathan Calderwood at Paisley CID said: “We are currently viewing CCTV and speaking to local people in the area to help establish what exactly occurred yesterday afternoon.
“Causeyside Street would have been busy at this time with both pedestrians and car users and I urge anyone who witnessed this incident or has any information that could assist our inquiries to contact CID at Paisley immediately quoting incident number 2475 of 17 August.”
