Plans for 92 affordable homes at the Paisley Grammar school site are included in a five-year housing investment programme going before Renfrewshire councillors.
The Strategic Housing Investment Plan for 2027–2032 also includes 66 homes at Lonend, 40 at Almond Crescent in Foxbar and 28 at Nethercraigs Drive in Glenburn.
Renfrewshire Council’s Communities and Housing Policy Board will be asked to approve the plan for submission to the Scottish Government on Tuesday, 27th October 2026.
The housing association partner for the Paisley Grammar site has yet to be confirmed. The project remains subject to approval, and no construction start date is given.
Paisley Housing Association is expected to deliver the Lonend development, with construction estimated to start in February 2028. The proposed mix includes 35 two-bedroom and 31 one-bedroom homes, including two wheelchair-accessible homes.
The same association is proposing the Almond Crescent development, with work expected to start around February 2029, subject to approval.
Link Housing Association is proposing the Nethercraigs Drive homes, with construction expected to start around July 2027, also subject to approval.
The Scottish Government has confirmed funding planning figures of £19.747m for 2027/28, £20.339m for 2028/29 and £20.949m for 2029/30 to support affordable housing across Renfrewshire.
Officers say the return to funding allocations covering several years provides greater certainty for planning longer-term projects.
The council received six representations during consultation on the draft plan. The final version includes changes following consultation and updated information from developers.
The report makes clear that the number of homes and delivery timescales for individual projects will be refined as proposals and grant requirements are finalised.
