Three residents from Renfrewshire and two from East Renfrewshire are among hundreds who have been awarded honnours on the Queen’s New Year Honours list.
An OBE has been awarded to Professor Paul Knight who is an Associate Medical Director for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde for services to Geriatric Healthcare
Professor Knight lives in Kilmacolm.
Another OBE has been awarded to Dr Jennifer Preston who lives in Renfrew.
Dr Preston is a Occupational Therapist Consultant who works for NHS Ayrshire and Arran. She was giving the award for services to the Occupational Therapy Profession and Neurological Rehabilitation.
An MBE goes to Newton Mearns resident Ethne Woldman who is a trustee for the Targu Mures Trust. She was awarded for services to the Jewish community in Scotland and also in Romania.
Another was awarded to Age Concern Convener, Patricia Newton for services to Older People in East Renfrewshire. Mrs Newton lives in Clarkston.
Finally an MBE was awarded to Juliet Robb founder of the Olive Tree for services to Interfaith Relations and charitable services Abroad.
Mrs Robb lives in Bridge of Weir.
