Police are appealing for witnesses after a break in at a Paisley cake shop – the 6th incident in two years.

The latest break in at Adorable Cakes in Murray Street, Paisley happened between 5pm on Tuesday evening, 10th January and in the morning of Wednesday 11th January.

The assailant(s) gained entry though a side window. Two steel bars were removed and the window was forced with a plank of wood.

In total, £1,500 worth of  damage was caused combined with equipment stolen including a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 mobile phone, the tablet screen part of the shop till, £40 cash, a digital radio and all the sweets and coffee beans from the shop.

As well as equipment and stock being damaged, some incomplete customer orders were contaminated with glass and debris. Some finished cakes were damaged too.

Only last week, the shop had an attempted break-in on Thursday 5th January where the shutter was forced open but the perpetrator(s) were not able to enter the premises.

The previous 5 attempted break-ins happened when the thieves entered through a unit at the back of the shop. A conviction was made for the first break-in.
