The Holiday Inn Hotel at Glasgow Airport is the latest Renfrewshire business to be presented with a prestigious Eat Safe Award for food safety.
The Eat Safe scheme is run by the national agency Food Standards Scotland and recognises excellence in food hygiene and food safety management. Awards are only made when a business has achieved consistently high food hygiene and training standards beyond those required by law.
Consumers can be assured that the food served in awarded premises is prepared with the utmost care.
Councillor Eddie Devine, Convener of Renfrewshire Council’s Environment Policy Board, said: “Food hygiene and safety are key issues for Renfrewshire’s hospitality sector.
“Renfrewshire Council is delighted to be able to present this award to the Holiday Inn Glasgow Airport. It comes following a number of inspections of the establishment carried out by Council food enforcement officers where standards were found to be consistently high.
“The Holiday Inn at Glasgow Airport is very much a gateway to Renfrewshire and is used by many visiting business and leisure customers. The Eat Safe award shows customers that the hotel is operating to a very high standard indeed.”
Eligible establishments are assessed for the Eat Safe Award as part of scheduled food hygiene inspections carried out by councils.
Since the Eat Safe scheme launched in Scotland in 2005, 14 Renfrewshire businesses and other organisations have received the award.

Holiday Inn Glasgow Airport Manager, Mr. Narayan Kerala said: “The team at Holiday Inn Glasgow Airport are delighted to receive the Eat Safe Award. It is testament to our fantastic staff who make great efforts to meet guests’ nutritional needs and always maintain excellent standards in food hygiene.
“The award is a wonderful achievement and recognises our continued commitment to food safety.”
