Police have launched an investigation after the body of a man was found in Erskine.

Officers are treating the death as unexplained at this time until a post mortem has been carried out to confirm the cause of death.

Police cordoned off a grassed area next to Park Mains High School after the discovery of a body around 5.40am this morning (30/04/17) .

Forensic investigations are on the scene and a tent was quickly erected near to Rashielee Avenue to conceal the body.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “At around 5.40am police received a report of a man’s body being found on ground adjacent to Rashielee Avenue.

“Enquiries are underway to identify the man and officers are treating the death as unexplained pending a postmortem examination.”
