Howwood residents celebrated the festive season on Friday evening as the local community gathered to switch on the lights of their biggest ever Christmas tree in the local village ‘triangle’.
Mactaggart and Mickel Homes, who are are building new properties in the village at Midton Fields, paid for and installed a permanent base for the fir.

Joanne Casey, Director of Mactaggart & Mickel Homes said, “We are delighted to support the Community Council in its efforts to provide local people with a much larger tree than was possible before. We would like to wish every resident of Howwood very best wishes for the festive season.”
Linda Smith, Chairperson of Howwood Community Council, said: “The annual Christmas lights switch on in Howwood is an important tradition for our village and we’re grateful to Mactaggart and Mickel for their tremendous contribution to the event. The village appreciates that the addition of a Christmas tree to our festivities makes it a better start to the festive season as a community.”
