Christmas cheer will be ringing its way to St Columba’s School in Kilmacolm as the school’s biennial music celebration takes place.
Award-winning housebuilder, David Wilson Homes has donated £2,000 to co-sponsor St Columba’s Christmas musical celebration allowing proceeds from the event to benefit the St Columba’s Foundation.
The musical celebration showcases the talents of St Columba’s Junior and Senior School pupils on the evening of 20th December in Greenock Town Hall. Over the course of the two hour show there will be performances from soloists, ensembles, choirs, orchestras and the very talented school pipe band.
Previous celebrations have been hugely successful having raised £5000 on each occasion for the School’s financial assistance fund.
The St Columba’s Foundation is a newly-launched fund that supports financial assistance and various projects. This year’s fundraising aim includes the provision of a dedicated Wellbeing Centre that will offer increased medical and pastoral care to the pupils of St Columba’s School.

“Not only does the evening give us the chance to showcase the talents of our pupils but it allows us to raise money for the Foundation. The Foundation will help us in providing our pupils with the excellent standard of education and care that is expected from St Columba’s by supporting various projects around the School such as the Wellbeing Centre.
“It will also support our bursary programme, which currently assists 8% of our pupils, giving them the opportunities that come with an education at St Columba’s irrespective of their background and household income.
