A night at the opera certainly wasn’t boring for members of Paisley & District’s University of the Third Age (U3A) opera appreciation group.

They recently joined crowds of people inside a big tent at Seedhill Playing Fields in Paisley to sample Scottish Opera’s latest production of Pagliacci which reflects the Italian style Comedie del Arte.

Relishing the show’s carnival atmosphere, some U3A members were among those photographed wearing fancy dress costumes available to the public.

Paisley & District U3A Chair Kathleen O’Donnell, who was also singing in the chorus said: “Something special happened right here in our town.

“People came together in a huge tent and discovered classical music in a fresh and exciting way.

“This opera received a positive response from our members, and everyone there enjoyed it too.”
