A Renfrewshire MSP has held a Show Racism the Red Card photocall at the Scottish Parliament.

West Scotland Labour MSP Neil Bibby hosted the photocall and subsequent drop-in for MSPs to show support for ‘Show Racism the Red Card’.

Last Thursday, The First Minister, Cabinet Secretaries, opposition party leaders and Presiding Officer Alison Johnstone joined MSPs of all parties to show their support for stamping out racism in football.

Speaking afterwards, Neil Bibby MSP said: “I was very pleased to host Show Racism the Red Card in the Scottish Parliament this week, ahead of Wear Red Day on 20th October.

“Huge thanks to Still Game actor Sanjeev Kohli and sports journalist Peter Martin for joining us.

“There have been huge strides in stamping out racism in football, but there is much more work still to do. Show Racism the Red Card does hugely important work, and MSPs from all parties are agreed that racist abuse has no place in our national game.”
