Birkmyre takes on Lochaber in their final league fixture this Saturday in what will be a title deciding encounter.

The Kilmacolm side currently sits in second spot, 5 points behind league leaders Irvine who have completed all their fixtures. Birkmyre does however have a superior points difference. This means that should they win with a bonus point for 4 tries or more, they will lift the league trophy for the first time in about 8 years.

Skipper Ross Moglia commented “It’s an exciting week for the club. We have won our last 5 league fixtures to get us into the position where our destiny is in our own hands and we will be going flat out on Saturday to get the result we need.

“We defeated Lochaber 39-5 earlier in the season but that match was a lot closer than the score line would suggest, therefore we are expecting a tough encounter this weekend.”

The match takes place at Birkmyre Park with an earlier than normal 1:30pm kick off.

All are welcome.
