Paisley-based company Clark Contracts has donated a range of household items to Fresh Start Scotland.

The donations will be used to create Starter Packs – bundles of essential household items designed to help individuals set up their new home or sustain a tenancy with dignity.

Over £1,200 was raised during a staff fundraising event that featured a bake sale, raffle, and various games. The funds were used to donate items such as microwaves, kettles, cushions, bedding, and more.

Fresh Start supports people who have experienced homelessness in establishing themselves in new homes. Working with volunteers and organisations across the community, the charity provides practical and social support to help people resettle successfully.

Gordon Cunningham, Managing Director, Clark Contracts said: “We are pleased to support such a vital charity through the donation of supplies for their starter packs. We hope these contributions provide meaningful assistance to those who need it most.”

Darcey Joyce at Fresh Start said, “Fresh Start is very grateful for Clark Contract’s donation of essential household items to the Starter Pack service. Donations like these go a long way in helping people make a home for themselves following periods of homelessness across Edinburgh.

“We rely heavily on donations from the public to create Starter Packs. Last year, with the help of organisations like Clark Contracts, Fresh Start distributed approximately 18,000 Starter Packs to around 2000 households transitioning from homelessness across the city. Without the generosity of organisations and individuals this wouldn’t be possible- thank you.”

Clark Contracts is based on McFarlane Street, Paisley.
