Powerleague, a leading small-sided football provider with a branch at Anchor Grounds on Blackhall Street, Paisley, has announced a change at the top.

After seven years as Chief Executive Officer, Christian Rose is stepping down and will remain with the group until 2026 in a support role. He is being succeeded by John Gillespie, who has held senior roles within the company since 2018.

Powerleague, which runs 43 clubs across the UK and manages more than 250 third-party football and netball venues, has recently expanded into padel – a fast-growing racquet sport. Plans are in place for a £14 million rollout of 76 courts at 18 clubs nationwide by 2026.

The company says it will also continue to invest in its football sites, including its Paisley venue, as part of its strategy to grow as a leading multi-sport operator.
