A packed timetable of creative workshops, wellbeing support and community events is taking place at Star Project in Paisley this week.
The charity, based on Wallace Street, is running a wide mix of drop-ins, advice sessions and group activities aimed at supporting local people of all ages.
The week begins with the organisation’s regular Drop-In service, which is available on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9.30am until 12 noon. Citizens Advice Bureau staff will be on site on Tuesday between 10am and 12 noon for the Money Matters session, offering confidential advice.
Pantry Plus, which provides affordable food and essentials, will operate on Tuesday from 12.30pm until 6pm and on Wednesday to Friday from 10am until 2pm.
Creative opportunities feature strongly in the programme. A Poet-Tree Workshop runs on Tuesday from 10am to 12 noon, while the Inside Out Masks workshop – part of the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival – begins on Thursday morning from 10am to 12 noon.
Social and peer support sessions also take place throughout the week. Paisley Men’s Shed meets on Tuesday from 11am to 1pm and again on Thursday from 12pm to 3pm. The Fairer Renfrewshire group is scheduled for Wednesday from 12.30pm to 2.30pm, and Wee STARs meets on Friday from 10am to 12 noon.
Star Project will also be joining major community events at the end of the week. Staff and participants are expected to take part in the Paisley Halloween Parade on Friday evening from 6pm to 9pm. On Saturday, the organisation will be represented at the Scotland Demands Better March and Rally, which runs from 9.30am to 4.30pm.
