A woman has been raped in Paisley in what Police Scotland officers have described as a “horrendous” attack.
The incident happened at around 4.30am on Sunday morning in Brodie Park.
The woman did not require hospital treatment but was left extremely frightened.
The suspect is described as white, in his early 20s, and speaking with a local accent. He was wearing dark grey clothing.
Detective Inspector Nicky Beattie, Inverclyde CID, said: “This was a horrendous ordeal for the woman, and we are doing everything we can to trace the man responsible.
“Extensive enquiries are ongoing and there will be an increased police presence in the area and visible patrols in the park this week. I would urge anyone with information or concerns to please approach these officers.
“I would also ask anyone with dash-cam footage or private CCTV from around the area to please check if you have captured anything that could be useful to our investigation.
“Information can be provided to police by calling 101, quoting reference number 0717 of Sunday, 16th November 2025. In an emergency, always dial 999.”
