A man has been arrested and charged for alleged threatening and abusive behaviour in St Mirren Street, Paisley.

The arrest was made by officers carrying out high-visibility patrols as part of ongoing efforts to tackle anti-social behaviour in the town centre.

At around 5:50pm on Friday, 7th November 2025, a 37-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident.

Ross Wilson, Community Policing Inspector for Renfrewshire, said: “Anti-social behaviour has a real impact on the quality of life for people living, working, and visiting Paisley.

“We realise how disruptive and intimidating it can be, and tackling these issues remains a priority for us. We are working closely with a range of partner agencies to address this.

“Increased patrols are taking place throughout the town centre, and I would encourage anyone with concerns to speak to officers. Every report helps us build a fuller picture and focus our resources where they are needed most.”
