Police Scotland officers from the Renfrewshire Community Policing Team visited two local secondary schools last week as part of a series of careers events.

Constables Reid and Gibson spent time with pupils and staff at St Benedict’s High School and Linwood High School, giving young people the chance to ask questions, learn about pathways into policing and gain a clearer understanding of how policing works across Scotland.

PC Reid said it was a valuable opportunity to engage directly with pupils, who were keen to learn more about the wide range of roles available within Police Scotland.

He said: “It was great to be invited along to speak with the pupils about policing and let them know about the many careers Police Scotland offers. It has been really encouraging to hear positive feedback from those who took part in the sessions.”

He added: “Our aim is always to support our local schools and events like this. We met partners from the public sector and other local employers, who all helped the young people explore a wide range of opportunities for their future.”
