Loud n Proud has officially reopened its fully rebuilt music studios in Paisley’s West End – a landmark moment for the organisation after an arson attack destroyed its former base.

The new Kerr Building studios have been transformed into a state-of-the-art creative hub featuring four professional recording studios, four soundproof rehearsal rooms, a media department with a podcast suite, a digital audio workstation lab, and six multi-use teaching rooms. Every space has been fitted with high-end, industry-standard equipment designed to support musicians at every stage.

The rebuild was made possible through significant support from Renfrewshire Council, The National Lottery, The Brit Trust, The Clothworkers Foundation, more than 100 crowdfunders, and the wider community. Loud n Proud founder Tommy McGrory said the project marks a new era for the organisation.

The rebuild was also only achievable thanks to local businessman Gary Kerr, who gifted the building to Loud n Proud so that future generations could have access to modern, high-quality creative space.

Alongside the upgraded facilities, Loud n Proud will now offer music lessons in guitar, drums, bass, keyboards and vocals, led by an expert teaching team. Three resident producers are also based on site to help young artists develop their songwriting, recording and production skills.

The official opening was attended by Renfrewshire’s Provost Lorraine Cameron, council officials and representatives from local creative groups, who were given the first look inside the new studios.

Provost Lorraine Cameron said: “It’s brilliant to see Loud n Proud Music School back where it belongs. It’s a lifeline for young people in Paisley – a place where they find confidence, friendship, creativity, and sometimes a whole new direction in life. Seeing this building open its doors again means that spark keeps going. It means Paisley’s young people still have a place to dream big, make noise, and feel like they belong.”

Loud n Proud is now open for lessons, studio bookings and visits.
