A Paisley bus driver has been cleared of causing serious injury to a woman who was run over in Glasgow city centre.
Joseph Connelly, 57, of Paisley, had been accused of striking pedestrian Roseanne Coyle, 62, on Hope Street on 10th November 2022. Prosecutors alleged he failed to keep a proper lookout and was wearing an earphone while driving the bus.
The court heard Miss Coyle was knocked to the ground and ended up under the wheels of the bus. She suffered life-changing injuries, including the loss of her leg, and now uses a wheelchair.
Miss Coyle had given evidence during the trial at Glasgow Sheriff Court, overseen by Sheriff Paul Reid.
Connelly denied the allegations and was found not guilty of the single charge.
