St Mirren supporters turned out in force on Sunday as the club marked its Premier Sports Cup triumph with an open-top bus parade through the streets of Paisley.

Players and staff were given a rousing reception as the procession made its way through the town, allowing fans another chance to celebrate a historic cup win. The Buddies lifted the Premier Sports Cup for just the second time in the club’s history after a memorable 3–1 victory over Celtic at Hampden Park, with goals from Marcus Fraser and a double from Jonah Ayunga sealing the win.

The parade followed a busy week of celebrations after thousands gathered at Paisley Town Hall to see the trophy on display. Sunday’s event built on that atmosphere, with crowds lining the route to applaud the squad and coaching staff as they passed by.

The open-top bus set off at around 12:30pm and travelled through Broomlands Street before heading to Gauze Street via Wellmeadow Street, High Street, Storie Street, Witherspoon Street, Causeyside Street and St Mirren Street. The slow procession allowed supporters plenty of time to take in the moment, wave flags and capture photos of the silverware.

The scenes will be remembered for generations – again from everyone from Renfrewshire News WELL DONE!

Massive thanks to Hugh McMillan, who photographs sport for Renfrewshire News, and David Cameron, who’s always out and about in Paisley and never misses an event.
