Voluntary groups and charities across Renfrewshire are being encouraged to apply for the Scottish Charity Awards 2026.
The awards, run by the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO), are now in their 20th year and aim to celebrate the work of Scotland’s voluntary sector.
Applications are now open, with SCVO calling on organisations and individuals who reflect the diversity of the sector to put themselves forward.
All registered charities, social enterprises, campaigning groups, community interest companies and people who work or volunteer in these organisations are eligible to apply.
There are nine categories in total. Six focus on organisations and three recognise individuals.
The organisation categories are Small Charity of the Year (turnover under £100,000), Medium Charity of the Year (turnover £100,000–£500,000), Large Charity of the Year (turnover over £500,000), Partnership of the Year, Campaign of the Year and Climate Impact.
The individual categories are Trustee of the Year, Volunteer of the Year and Employee of the Year.
For 2026, organisations can only submit one application across all categories.
Last year’s awards attracted hundreds of applications from across Scotland. SCVO has said it hopes even more groups will take part this year.
The winners will be decided by a panel of judges and announced at a ceremony hosted by Sally Magnusson at Glasgow’s Radisson Blu on 11th June 2026.
Anna Fowlie, Chief Executive of the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations, said: “Each year, the Scottish Charity Awards stand out as a real highlight for me. Across Scotland — and far beyond — voluntary organisations are transforming lives in countless ways, and it’s impossible not to be moved by both the scale of their impact and the diversity of their work.
“Past finalists and winners often share how meaningful it is to receive recognition on a national stage. We also take care each year to refine and refresh the awards, ensuring they remain timely and relevant.
“Whether you’re a small grassroots group powered entirely by volunteers, a large national charity, or anything in between, there’s a place for you. Don’t hold back — put forward a nomination or submit an entry for this year’s awards.”
Applications close at 12 noon on Tuesday, 17th March 2025.
