Two youths have been charged after a boat was stolen and taken onto Castle Semple Loch in Lochwinnoch.
Police were called around 8.55pm on Wednesday, 29th April, after a report of a boat being taken from a club in the Lochlip Road area.
Emergency services attended after the boat was taken onto the water, with the two male youths onboard appearing to be in difficulty.
They were rescued and arrested at the scene.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.55pm on Wednesday, April 29, we received a report of the theft of a boat from a club on the Lochlip Road area of Lochwinnoch.
“Emergency services attended as the boat was taken onto the water and the occupants, two males youths, appeared to be in difficulty.
“The youths were traced safely.
“They have been charged in connection with theft and a report will be sent to the relevant authorities.”
