Renfrew Ladies have been crowned Barclays Scottish Women’s Championship winners after Ayr United were unable to fulfil their fixture.
Scottish Women’s Football confirmed on Friday 1st May 2026 that the match would be awarded as a 3-0 victory to Renfrew. The result puts them beyond reach at the top of the table.
A statement said: “Ayr United have informed SWF that they are unable to fulfil their fixture against Renfrew Ladies this weekend, and the match has therefore been awarded as a 3-0 victory to Renfrew Ladies.
“This result puts Renfrew Ladies beyond reach at the top of the Barclays Championship, and they will therefore be crowned Champions at their next home game at New Western Park on 10 May.
“Huge congratulations are due to Renfrew, who have won Scotland’s third tier on merit after a long campaign, picking up some very impressive results along the way.”
Renfrew had already been closing in on the title with a strong season. They sit top of the table on 54 points from 22 games, with 17 wins, three draws and just two defeats.
The club said: “SWF Championship winners 2025/26.
“After communication from the SWF and Ayr United, we have been informed that Ayr United cannot fulfil Sunday’s fixture, meaning we have been crowned champions.
“18 games unbeaten. 14-game winning streak. History makers.”
