A controlled explosion was carried out in Renfrew after a possible unexploded hand grenade was found in a garden.
Police were made aware of the item in the Broadloan area of the town at around 7.30pm on Monday, 18th May 2026.
Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) specialists attended and removed the item.
The object was destroyed in a controlled explosion at a nearby safe location at around 5.30am on Tuesday, 19th May,
A police cordon was put in place while the incident was dealt with.
No evacuations were required.
