High Street in Johnstone is now closed to traffic for resurfacing works.
The closure is in place between MacDowall Street and Laighcartside Street from 9am until 3.30pm each day and will remain in force until Friday 14th August.
Anyone using local bus services should note that bus stops have been moved outside the health centre while the work is carried out.
Access for residents and businesses will be maintained when work is not taking place. However, motorists should not pass through the works area unless they need access, as the road surface will be uneven.
A signposted diversion is in place via Thorn Brae, Thornhill, Beith Road, Quarrelton Road and Graham Street.

Ricky Kelly can we confirm its opening at 3.30 as when I spoke to work men they say no, as planning route later to get home thanks
Danielle Lamb if you’re getting the bus. It’s outside the health centre. Access will be maintained for recidents and business when the workies are away however people should not pass through it unless they need access as the road will be uneven.
Ricky Kelly thanks
Danielle Lamb no it’s not opening at 3:30pm they just stop the work at that time. I read the letter we all got. Bus stop is at the back square at town hall. I used it today n was easy enough just 5 mins walk
Wasn’t open at 3.30 today or even the back of 5
It’s not opening.guy said this morning its only for deliveries
Not open at 6pm either…so many road works and temp lights. There’s temp lights in howwood road, so have to wait at them to get to Beith road where there are temp lights at joint campus…now high street etc…I hope it’ll result in great road surfaces!
Where does the 38 ends if it dosent stop at the high street
Steven Chen there is a temporary bus stop at Ludovic Square, opposite Johnstone Health Centre.
Shops are mostly crap now anyway
Great that johnstone is getting work done , yes its inconvenient for people but we can t have it all ways
I’m not from Johnstone. Can someone tell me if I can drive from the Thorn Brae to Brewery Street? TIA
