A new group allowing British Sign Language users to give feedback on Renfrewshire Council services is expected to meet for the first time this autumn.

Several people have expressed an interest in joining the group.

The update was reported to the Fairer Renfrewshire Sub-committee at its online meeting on Wednesday 2nd September 2026.

The group will bring together BSL users to help the council improve services for Deaf and Deafblind people.

Expressions of interest closed at the end of July.

The opportunity was promoted through the British Deaf Association newsletter, Alliance Scotland, community networks and social media.

Council officers will now contact those who expressed an interest.

The first meeting is expected to take place in October or November.
