A senior site manager overseeing a housing development in Maidenhill has received a Seal of Excellence in the National House Building Council’s Pride in the Job Awards 2026.
David McClure, of Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, oversees work at the company’s Castle Gate development in East Renfrewshire.
The award follows the Quality Award he received earlier this year. Only 450 site managers across the UK received a Quality Award, including 47 working for Taylor Wimpey.
David was among nine Scottish site managers to receive a Seal of Excellence. The winners were recognised at an awards ceremony at the Hilton Glasgow on Friday 11th September.
The competition involved thousands of assessments across 7,500 sites. Site managers were judged on areas including consistency, attention to detail, leadership, technical knowledge and health and safety.
David was also named the Scottish regional winner last year and won the UK Supreme Award in 2024.
David said: “While this is not my first Seal of Excellence, winning a Seal of Excellence Award again this year is a special moment for me and my team. Pride in the Job is so important to site managers. It’s often talked about as the Oscars of the housebuilding industry, so to be amongst the few people to receive the honour this year makes me feel very proud.
“We’ve worked really hard to ensure that our standards are high across all aspects of our work, as we want to make sure that we build the very best quality homes for customers. I want to thank my team for their fantastic support.”

Four other site managers were named as Scottish regional winners at the ceremony.
They were Eric Wallace, of Orkney Builders (Contractors) Limited; Eddie McCann, of Robertson Homes Limited; Peter Lawrie, of Bellway Homes Scotland East; and Campbell Te Rito, of CALA Homes East.
They will compete in the Pride in the Job Supreme Awards in London in January 2027.
