Award-winning Scottish hospitality operator Buzzworks has announced the appointment of Maurissa Fergusson as its new Property Director.

Her appointment marks the latest step in the company’s growth strategy as it expands into accommodation and room offerings.

Maurissa, a qualified architect with more than 25 years of experience in property and real estate, has led major projects across the UK, including at Scotmid, where she managed property, development and facilities.

She said: “Branching into rooms and accommodation is a natural next step for Buzzworks, and I’m proud to be leading this new chapter of the company’s growth.”

Maurissa will head the Projects and Facilities team, overseeing property development, renovation and maintenance across Buzzworks’ 22 venues across Scotland.

Managing Director Kenny Blair added: “Maurissa brings an extensive wealth of property knowledge and experience that will prove invaluable to our team. This is a really exciting chapter for Buzzworks, and we are thrilled to have her on board.”

Buzzworks was recently named Best Managed Pub Company in the UK (Under 51 sites) at The Publican Awards — the first Scottish operator to achieve the honour.

Most of the firm’s venues are located in Ayrshire and Edinburgh, with a growing presence across the country.

In Renfrewshire, Buzzworks run The Coach House, situated in Bridge of Weir.
