Puddle Lane Nursery in Hillington is celebrating after being shortlisted in two major categories at the Scottish Nursery Awards 2025: Parent Engagement and Individual Nursery of the Year.

The national recognition reflects the nursery’s commitment to high-quality early years education and its community-focused approach, which places families at the centre of each child’s learning.

Judges for Individual Nursery of the Year are seeking an outstanding setting that delivers exceptional education and care. Puddle Lane’s modern environment, experienced staff and play-based curriculum have helped create a space where children grow in confidence, creativity and curiosity each day.

The nursery has continued to invest in its team, its spaces and its outdoor learning programme, allowing it to grow quickly while maintaining strong standards and positive outcomes for children.

The Parent Engagement award recognises nurseries that actively involve families in children’s development. Puddle Lane has made partnership with parents a core part of its work, offering regular development meetings, daily digital updates, stay-and-play sessions and seasonal family events.

Nursery Manager Lisa Drever said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be shortlisted for not just one, but two national awards. Parent engagement is one of our core values. We believe families are key partners in a child’s development. Being recognised for this approach is a testament to the dedication and passion of our entire team.

“Our staff work tirelessly to create a safe, inspiring and playful environment where every child can thrive. To be acknowledged in the Individual Nursery of the Year category means so much to us. It reflects the quality, thoughtfulness and heart that goes into every day at Puddle Lane.”

Puddle Lane is based in Hillington Business Park and offers places for up to 65 children aged from birth to five. It is part of the Kibble network of services and is open to all families, with funded hours available through Renfrewshire Council.

Jim Gillespie, Chief Executive Officer of Kibble, said: “We are incredibly proud of the Puddle Lane team for achieving their shortlisted place at the Scottish Nursery Awards and wish the team all the very best of luck for the finals.

“The nomination for both categories reflects the dedication, skill and passion inherent to every person that makes Puddle Lane the fun, vibrant and enriching environment that it is.

“The nursery plays a vital role in Kibble’s overarching mission to support children across Scotland from early years education right through to our offering of vital education opportunities for older teens and life skills support into adulthood.

“Puddle Lane provides an environment where children are nurtured, confident and ready to thrive in their next stage of life.”

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on 22nd November 2025 at Glasgow’s Marriott Hotel. The team, children and families at Puddle Lane will be eagerly awaiting the result.
