Grid Braehead is set to go green this weekend as it hosts a special Wicked-themed event to celebrate the release of the new film, Wicked: For Good.
The event will take place on Saturday, 22nd November, from 12pm to 4pm, with visitors invited to enjoy an afternoon of fun inspired by the much-loved characters Elphaba and Glinda. Families can meet Grid’s very own versions of the famous duo as they greet visitors, hand out treats and offer free popcorn.
Children can also get into the spirit of the day with themed face painting, and a Wicked-inspired photo backdrop complete with props will be available for anyone wanting to capture the moment.
As part of the celebrations, ODEON at Grid Braehead is offering visitors the chance to win free cinema tickets and Wicked merchandise. To enter, visitors simply need to take a photo at the backdrop, upload it to Instagram, tag @gridbraehead, use the hashtag #wickedatgridbraehead, and like and comment a witch emoji on Grid’s most recent post. A winner will be chosen at random on Friday 29th November.
Bruce Harley, Grid Centre Manager, said: “We are always on the lookout for new ways to bring joy and excitement to our visitors. The release of the new Wicked film presents a fantastic opportunity to celebrate with a wonderful event for the whole community to enjoy. From meeting our Elphaba and Glinda to the chance to win free cinema tickets, this event is set to be a magical experience for all involved.”
The event is free to attend and open to all ages, with organisers promising an afternoon full of Wicked-themed fun.
