Crowds turned out in Linwood to see the town’s Christmas lights switched on for 2025.

The switch-on took place during a special carol concert inside Tweedie Hall, with performances from Johnstone Burgh Band and choirs from Our Lady of Peace and Wallace Primary School.

The celebrations continued with a range of free family activities, including festive arts and crafts, storytelling sessions, children’s Christmas discos, street entertainers and a giant snow globe.

Santa Claus also made an appearance, joining Renfrewshire’s Depute Provost Cathy McEwan and competition winner Arya from East Fulton Primary School to push the button and light up the town for the festive season.

The expanded programme of events was made possible through additional investment from Renfrewshire Council, working with local communities to deliver a calendar of cultural events across the area’s five main town centres.
