Nando’s has submitted plans to install a dedicated collection hatch for Deliveroo drivers at its restaurant in Phoenix Retail Park, Linwood.

The restaurant chain is seeking planning permission from Renfrewshire Council to install a new glazed hatch on the north-east side of its building.

The hatch would allow Deliveroo drivers to collect takeaway orders without entering the restaurant.

According to planning documents, the changes are intended to reduce congestion at the main entrance and make collections more efficient.

The proposed hatch would measure approximately 1.12 metres high and 83cm wide.

Customers collecting their own takeaway orders would continue to use the restaurant’s main entrance.

The hatch would only operate during the restaurant’s normal trading hours, which currently run until 11pm.

Deliveroo drivers would be asked not to gather outside the premises and to switch off their vehicle engines while waiting to collect orders.

Plans also show changes to the internal collection area, with seating increasing from 128 to 134 customers.

The application has been submitted to Renfrewshire Council and is awaiting a decision.
