Johnstone Phoenix Theatre Group is set to raise the roof this spring with Sister Act – The Musical, a high-energy, feel-good production that is already proving hugely popular with audiences.
Set in 1978, the show follows disco diva Deloris Van Cartier as she is placed into hiding in a convent, where her larger-than-life personality and love of music turn the quiet religious community upside down. Packed with disco-inspired songs, big harmonies, sharp comedy and slick dance routines, the musical delivers a story about friendship, confidence and finding where you belong.
The production runs at Johnstone Town Hall from Wednesday 29th April to Saturday 2nd May 2026, with evening performances at 7.30pm each night and a Saturday matinee at 2pm. Tickets are priced at £20.
Organisers say demand has been strong, with tickets already around 85 per cent sold, and are encouraging people to book early to avoid missing out. With its mix of comedy, sparkle and infectious music, Sister Act – The Musical promises to be one of the standout local shows of the year.
