Police are appealing for information after a robbery at a shop on Glasgow Road in Paisley, where a member of staff was threatened.

The incident happened at around 4.45pm on Tuesday, 27th January, 2026, when a man entered the premises, threatened staff with a knife and stole a three-figure sum of cash. No one was injured.

Enquiries so far suggest the suspect fled the scene towards the Crossflat Crescent area, where he got into an older-style grey car.

The man is described as white, around 5ft 9in tall, of slim build, and was wearing a black jacket with a dark blue hood up, black trousers and black trainers. He was also wearing a black face covering and spoke with a local accent.

Detective Constable Colin Leggat said: “This was a terrifying ordeal for the staff within the shop.

“We are appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the robbery or who saw a man matching this description, to contact us.

“We are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed what happened, or has CCTV or dash cam footage which may assist.”
