A 30-year-old man has been arrested and charged after cannabis worth up to £68,000 was recovered in Paisley.

Response policing officers on patrol as part of the Renfrewshire Road Safety Initiative stopped a vehicle on Limecraigs Avenue at about 4.15pm on Tuesday, 24th February 2026.

The driver made off and was later traced to a nearby property.

Police discovered cannabis with a potential street value of up to £68,000 inside.

The man was arrested and charged in connection with drug and road traffic offences.

He is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 25th February 2026.

Inspector Lorna McLaren said: “This is a clear example of how proactive policing makes a difference. We remain committed to tackling criminality and keeping our roads safe.

“We are determined to protect the public from this harmful criminality by disrupting the sale of illegal substances, preventing them being circulated on our streets and addressing the concerns of local people.”
