A Paisley family band have released a new World Cup song ahead of Scotland’s return to the biggest stage.
Whyte Noise, made up of Ciaran, Gordon and Susan Whyte, will release See Our Likes Again on Friday 8th May 2026.
The track looks back on Scotland’s qualification for the tournament, including the decisive goals against Denmark in November 2025, and aims to capture the spirit of the Tartan Army.
Ciaran Whyte, 28, who wrote the song, said he wanted to reflect the feel of classic Scotland anthems.
He said: “My dad grew up with the great World Cup songs such as Ally’s Tartan Army and We Have a Dream, which we’ve often sung together.
“I wanted to capture something of the passion and humour of these songs for this year’s World Cup – because Scotland fans have big hearts and hopes, but we also love to laugh at ourselves too.”
The song also features a 20-second commentary clip from Derek Rae, imagining Scotland winning the tournament.
Ciaran added: “I thought our World Cup song would really be enhanced by a bit of commentary which imagined Scotland winning the tournament.
“He was delighted to get involved and his commentary is so good, it makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up every time I hear it.”
A music video has been filmed around Hampden Park and includes footage with fans before Scotland’s friendly against Japan, as well as a mural of Scott McTominay’s overhead kick against Denmark.
The trio will headline an unofficial Tartan Army leaving party at The Clutha Bar on Thursday 4th June.
Ciaran is also set to travel to the United States in June, with plans to join Scotland supporters in Boston and Miami during the tournament.
Whyte Noise formed in Paisley and released their debut album What We Love To Do in July 2025.
Whyte Noise will be performing at the ‘Walk With Craig’ fundraiser at The Bungalow in Paisley on Sunday 24th May 2026. More information and tickets are available here: https://www.skiddle.com/whats-on/Paisley/The-Bungalow-Bar/Walk-With-Craig—Paisley-Town-Walk-and-Music-Event-Charity-Day/42357223.
