A special therapet will visit residents at a new retirement development in Bishopton after Renfrewshire housebuilder Chrysalis Homes partnered with her owner ahead of the site’s opening next year.

Luna, an eight-year-old cocker spaniel owned by Gill Gardner, has spent the past five years visiting people in hospitals, day centres, care homes and hospices.

She will now visit homeowners at Waterside in Dargavel Village when the development opens early next year.

Gill, who is also a holistic therapist, said: “Luna is very sociable and loves meeting new people. She has a very calm personality and everyone who meets her loves to pet her and just enjoy her company.”

Waterside will offer one and two-bedroom retirement apartments designed to be low maintenance. The homes include fitted kitchens with integrated appliances, additional storage or utility space, and fitted wardrobes.

The development will have an on-site House Manager during working hours to oversee the running of the building, maintain communal areas and organise activities for residents.

Linda Docherty, Sales Manager at Chrysalis Homes, said: “Luna is just adorable and we’re delighted to have her on board. Her visits are just one of many free activities planned for home owners.”

Residents will also have access to a communal lounge, a guest suite for visitors, a 24-hour emergency call system, lift access, private parking and scooter storage.

Prices for one-bedroom apartments start at £220,000.
