A male has been charged with numerous road traffic offences after police seized an electric motorcycle and an e-scooter in Renfrewshire.

Police said the offences took place in the Renfrewshire area between 15th and 30th June 2026.

Police Scotland did not reveal where in Renfrewshire the offences took place or where the items were seized.

Officers carrying out enquiries under Project Trail reviewed CCTV footage and identified the male.

A search warrant was later issued. Officers attended the accused’s address on 8th August 2026 and seized an electric motorcycle and an e-scooter.

The male was charged with numerous road traffic offences and will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

A parent of the male was also charged with a road traffic offence.

Project Trail targets the illegal use of electric motorcycles, off-road bikes and e-scooters across Renfrewshire and Inverclyde.

Police Scotland said: “This is a reminder that police will continue to liaise with partners, review CCTV and carry out enquiries to identify those responsible and charge as appropriate.”
